Google Sheets & Drive — Amar Sonod

Amar Sonod is a digital certificate platform for Bangladesh Union Parishad and Municipality offices. Google Sheets and Google Drive are an optional office feature — not required for citizens to apply for certificates.

This page explains the product functionality reviewers and users can verify without logging in. Live connect controls are available after office login at /settings/google.

How the feature works

1. Sign in to Amar Sonod as office staff
Authorized Union Parishad / Municipality staff open Amar Sonod and go to Settings → Google Sheets ও Drive.
2. Connect Google (OAuth consent)
Staff choose Connect Google account. Google shows the Amar Sonod consent screen with only the scopes listed below. After Allow, Amar Sonod returns to Settings and shows the connected email.
3. Create Sheet and Drive folder
Amar Sonod creates a certificate register spreadsheet and a Drive folder owned by that Google account (drive.file). Staff do not need to grant access to their entire Drive or all spreadsheets.
4. Apply → Sheet row
When a certificate application is submitted, Amar Sonod appends a register row (track ID, certificate type, citizen info, status) to the office Sheet.
5. Approve → Sheet update + PDF in Drive
When an application is approved, Amar Sonod updates the Sheet (including fee data from cash register when available) and uploads Bangla/English certificate PDF copies into the Drive folder.

Minimum Google scopes we request

Amar Sonod requests only these scopes — the minimum needed for the features above. Per Google's least-privilege guidance for Workspace APIs, we use non-sensitive drive.file instead of the sensitive spreadsheets scope: Amar Sonod creates the register Sheet and PDF folder itself, then reads/writes only those app-created files. We do not request Gmail, full Drive, Contacts, or broad spreadsheet access.

Appropriate data access & Limited Use

Google user data obtained through these scopes is used only to provide the Sheets register and Drive PDF features described here. We do not use Google user data for ads, sell it, or transfer it to unrelated third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full disclosure.

বাংলা: অফিস স্টাফ চাইলে Google সংযুক্ত করে সনদ রেজিস্টার Sheet-এ এবং অনুমোদিত PDF Drive-এ রাখতে পারেন। নাগরিক আবেদনের জন্য এটি বাধ্যতামূলক নয়।
